STROKE SUPPORT OUTREACH PROGRAM
Family & Caregiver Concerns
-The next session of the Hospital's "Strike
Back at Stroke" support and educational class in support of stroke patients
and their caregivers will meet Thursday September 28, 2000 from 6 pm- 7:30
p.m. at Hospital's Landmark Community Conference Room, 445
Landmark Avenue.
Darlene Horst, stroke victor, will facilitate the meeting. Some of the
topics to be covered include:
- How the stroke diagnosis affects the patient
and their family
- How to talk to your spouse, children,
parents and significant other
- How to deal with the common reactions of
family members
- How the patient and family can express their
needs and fears
- How to deal with the loss of friends
- How stroke affects young children
There is no fee. For more information, call the Hospital
Community Health Education office M-F 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.,
