"Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and the staff of the Advanced Pain Center. The Advanced Pain Center treats the patient as a whole person & considered all aspects of my life when considering a treatment plan, not just the illness. The doctors & nurses take the time to listen to my concerns & took my concerns seriously. They uplift and encourage their patients. They have never made me feel like less of a person because I have chronic pain. The doctors take the time to discuss all treatment options. They present options in an honest & forthright manner. And, they helped me develop my own pain management plan. The doctors, nurses, and staff are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Living with pain every day can change so many aspects of life. And, having a staff of caring and very competent professionals to help has given me the chance to continue to live a productive life, be active with my child, and pursue my dreams! Thank you so much! You have truly changed my life."

| "Recently, I visited the Bloomington Hospital ER on Memorial Day for Neurocardiogenic Syncope. The ER staff was attentive, thorough, caring, and compassionate. I was admitted to 3N for three days for the syncope episodes and acute pyelonephritis. The entire hospital staff from the lab techs to the nurses and physicians were truly caring and attentive.
The nurses on 3N were great, but Linda and Gina were amazing and took such great care of me. They both showed such genuine care and concern. Thank you Bloomington Hospital for making my hospital stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. "

"During a recent hospitalization I received wonderful care from a nurse on 3S named Heidi. Not only did she respond quickly to my requests, she anticipated many of my needs and suggested things that I wanted to ask for anyway. She was friendly, and was a bright spot during an otherwise difficult experience. I had never before been hospitalized, and often felt helpless. But I just wanted to compliment Heidi on the excellent care she provided for me."

She was integral in having us "own" our emotions, feelings and actions regarding our activities involving past breastfeeding, interpersonal relationships, recent events and just, overall well being for us, our children and those I will influence, even as limited as it will be through the practice of EMS. Thank you Anne, for your expertise, your compassion and your love. Pat Elmes and family!"

Anthony and Cathy were caring, gentle and reassuring to all of us throughout their contact with our family. They even came back to check on us later in the Emergency Room. I even saw Cathy in a local restaurant a few days later and she remembered me and asked how mom was doing. Good to know that they are there when we need them."

"In Aug.05 our world came crashing down. My husband, Randy, at the age of 52 had a stroke, and almost died. It was terrifying. We just wanted to finally thank all the doctors, ER staff, rehab. unit, and nurses at Bloomington Hospital. You are truly a bunch of angels. Everyone, for almost a month...was wonderful to us. The tender loving care and expertise was above and beyond the call of duty. It was a very stressful, exhausting and scary time, and we really appreciate all that you did for us. I have to say, even the cafeteria staff was so nice to me, I'd go down, looking all haggered, and they even seemed truly concerned, (I cannot remember her name now, but in particular, was one lady with kind of long blonde hair, was there almost every day, that was just so very nice to me) & even that, at that point, I really appreciated. I would recommend Bloomington Hospital, at Bloomington to anyone of my friends. God Bless, Karen & Randy Emmons"

| "My husband's appendix ruptured on 12/23/07. Our first stop was the ED, where nurses Angela and Ron and Dr. Repetto gave my husband compassionate, skilled, and speedy assessment and care. Next, my husband was given excellent reassurance and care by nurses Leanne, Ed, and Mary in Pre-op, Surgery, and Recovery. My husband then had emergency surgery performed by Dr. Fadi Haddad, who was extraordinarily kind and informative both before and after the surgery. Then my husband spent eleven days recovering on Unit 4E, where the nurses and techs were very patient, skilled, and kind. My husband's recovery was a bit difficult, which made him upset from time to time, but everyone on 4E took the time to explain and to reassure. Though we were not thrilled to spend Christmas, New Year's, and our anniversary at Bloomington Hospital, we are very grateful for the true compassion and obvious expertise we encountered during that time at every turn. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of you."

"I just recently had outpatient surgery for a kidney stone and was amazed with the care I received. I was also very pleased with my nurse Leanne which I had on a trip to the ER not long before my surgery. When She started my IV I hardly felt a thing. When My mother spotted her on the day of my surgery she told Leanne what had been happening since the trip to the ER and Leanne showed that she really cared. It touched my heart to know that she remembered me and cared about me. Bloomington Hospital Obviously has the best nursing staff in the world."

"We recently had our new bundle of joy. We had the most wonderful nurse who made our experience amazing!! We felt so comfortable with her. It was almost like she was a member of our family. She answered all of our crazy new parent questions. She was always in a pleasant mood and helped us in any way she could. Our new baby Wyatt just loved her. She would talk to him and he would wiggle all around. We just wanted everyone to know that she definately helped us through our c section recovery process! She is definately the best of the best!"

| "I had a procedure done in outpatient surgery on 11/9/07 in the afternoon. On this day I was very pleased with the greetings I received from the nursing staff. Scott Swaby, which I already knew from a past career, greeted me in a very professional and informative manner, and I am not just saying this because he was at one time a good friend of mine. All the other nurses were so kind to me also, I really dont remember any of their names, they waited on me hand and foot. I have got to say this experience was one of the very best that I have ever had at Bloomington Hospital and although I was very stressed and worried about my surgery they made me feel very comfortable and confident that I would be taken care of and it was greatly appreciated. Thank you all very much for getting me through this tough time and making my visit a pleasant one."

| "I was seen in the ER Saturday night/Sunday morning. I have a needle phobia and although I am able to stay fairly clear headed, that idea of an IV and having blood drawn is very hard to handle. I know my fear is irrational but none-the-less it is there and I just do the best I can, which is not always that great. My nurse was very understanding. She did not make me feel silly when I teared up and kindly reminded me to breath. She gave me a second when I needed it, making the process probably go much faster than normal as I was able to remain (in my opinion!) more calm. Her bedside mannor was excellent and she took time to educate me on what was going on so that I could remain calm. I cannot express how much I appreciated her kindness this past weekend."

"I recently had outpatient surgery to remove a bone spur on my left foot. The care I received at the hospital was truly outstanding! Dr. Oglesby and Dr. Campbell provided excellent care. All of the outpatient surgery nurses were just fantastic. I particularly want to thank nurse Julie Bruce for her expertise, wonderful bedside manner, honesty, and very caring attitude. She was phenomenal. Although I was not facing major surgery, Julie's calming and highly informed presence helped a lot to lower my pre-surgery jitters. Bloomington Hospital rocks!"

"I am truly amazed at the terrific care Bloomington Hospital has provided to my mother. Every department that my family and I dealt with from the financial office all the way up to the doctors was outstanding. My mother underwent emergency brain surgery in December 2006. The night of the surgery I was a complete mess. The compassion that the nurses and her emergency room doctor showed was wonderful. They sincerely cared and it meant so much. Her surgeon Dr. Poor really helped my family and I understood the procedures that were going take place. Dr. Poor is an outstanding physician; who deserves acknowledgment for the treatment he gives his patients daily. In addition, every doctor that my family and I came in contact with informed us in detail what types of treatments and procedures were taking place on my mother. It was very important to me for them to take the time to explain why, and they also made sure that all of us understood."

| "I am a grateful colorectal cancer survivor due to a very successful surgery by Jerry Jesseph and the hospital staff. The Olcott center educated me. Follow up treatment was provided at the Cancer Care Center. In short it was my 279 day cancer war that achieved victory in 2003. I'd like to share my story and dedicate it to Bloomington Hospital. Another note: Upon telling an employee that I was born at Bloomington Hospital and saying that I was there for a CT scan, she said well we're going to extend you're warrantee. "
